Biography:
Zaza Khatiashvili was awarded the Order of Honor by the President of Georgia in 2015 for protecting the rights of lawyers and institutional strengthening of the legal profession. In the same year, Zaza Khatiashvili was awarded a medal by the National Association of Ukraine: "For the Development of the Legal Profession"
In 2017, Zaza Khatiashvili was awarded the CCBE Honorary Human Rights Lawyer of the Year award.
In 2009-2017, he was elected as the Chairman of the "Georgian Bar Association".
Zaza Khatiashvili is the founder and chairman of the first trade union of lawyers.
Since 2005, he has been a founding member of the Bar Association, and in 2005-2009 he was a member of the Executive Board of the Georgian Bar Association.
In 2003, in the European Court of Human Rights, he won the first trial in the history of Georgia: Asanidze v. Georgia.
He has been practicing law since 1995.
In 1994-96, he lectured on criminal law at the Tbilisi Humanitarian University.
In 1994, he graduated from the Faculty of Law of Iv. Javakhishvili State University.
